My 2Cents

My favorite part of the movie was when Collin Farrell walks on and his first line is "I reckon" >Just hearing this Irish Lad with a country accent is worth the price of admission. He makes a pretty good cowboy. I hesitated in seeing this movie mainly because I'm not a fan of country music. However; the music wasn't too bad. It was alot more bluesy than country. Although a few songs toward the end were steering towards more conservative (twangy) country. The storyline reminded me of The Wrestler. It was disheartening to see my favorite stud Jeff Bridges turn flabby. Maybe he did it for the role. Maggie G gave a decent performance. Saggy breasts and no bra as usual; but still as sexy as ever with her tall lean body. The movie leaves you wanting more. I wouldn't run out to see this one at the Theater, but I'd recommend this movie for a rainy or "snowy" night in. Wait for the rental.

A Single Man

My 2Cents

This movie started off very slow. I was wondering when and if there was going to be any dialogue? Fashion Icon Tom Ford funded and directed this film so it made sense there was mostly over the top romantic shots blocked well for anyone with a creative soul would instantly recognize. However; It was trying my patience in the beginning of the film.

I was pleasantly surprised as the film proceeded. It's done very tactfully and doesn't make our leading man a typical sex starved pervert in which most of the gay movies I've seen tend to do. Being an avid fan of Gay movies, I am no stranger to this genre.The characters were deep and moving. Not pretentious. Julianne Moore (Charly) provides the change of ambiance as the doe eyed beauty to splash across the screen as the close friend from home, and offers a piece of the puzzle regarding Colin Firth's character.
The young admirer is played by a beautiful well spoken Nicholas Hoult. His timing and compassion in this role was wonderful to watch. A Single Man takes you on a jigsaw visual journey. The characters become engrossing and haunting. Definitely a must see. A Single Man leaves you wanting and thinking about it more.
